BBQ SAUCE OF THE WEEK: Country Bob's All Purpose Sauce

Yes, the Country Bob's train has finally arrived at Ulika Junction. Country Bob's has been pounding the (virtual) pavement this year, knocking on (virtual) doors and spreading the (virtual) word to every corner of the blogosphere about their "All Purpose Sauce." And it looks like it's working - the stuff is everywhere!

"Country Bob" Edson created the recipe in 1968 and began selling it in 1977. Now they have a whole line of sauces and seasonings. The All Purpose Sauce is not exactly a barbecue sauce, although barbecue is one of the suggested applications. The first suggested application - steak - is more apropos. It's more like steak sauce than anything else, but a little thicker and sweeter. It tastes like two parts A-1 and one part sweet barbecue sauce. I think it'd be kind of overpowering on barbecue, but would work pretty well as a dipping sauce for some kind of something.

Grade: B
